The Speech Prosody Studies Group (SPSG) is a lab formed by full researchers and students from the State University of Campinas. All work produced by its members refers to speech prosody, within an experimental approach couched in dynamical systems theory. Our publications embrace the following disciplines: Experimental Phonetics (including rhythm and intonation), and Speech pathology. The group was formed in 2002 aiming at promoting experimental prosody research, by means of activities such as teaching, working papers' presentations, participation in speech sciences' conferences.
The Speech Sciences entries are part of an ongoing project to publish a bilingual dictionary, coordinated by Plínio A. Barbosa and Tommaso Raso. The project aims to promote speech sciences by presenting related themes in a manner that the general public can appreciate and understand.
See articlesThe online app Speech Rhythm Simulator implements the dynamic model of speech rhythm developed by Plínio Barbosa. This tool allows users to test and explore Barbosa's model by interactively simulating patterns of syllabic duration within utterances.
